Happy 9th Anniversary!
After 7 years of reflection, a young Prince William and his longtime girlfriend, Kate Middleton, decided to take the next step getting engaged on 20 October 2010.
A few months later, the royal wedding of the century was thus celebrated with great pomp and circumstance on 29 April 2011 at Westminster Abbey, London.
FYI, nearly 20 years before and a few miles away, his father, Prince Charles, and his mother, the then-called Lady Diana Spencer, get married on 29 July 1981 in Saint Paul’s Cathedral.
Therefore, the new Duke and Duchess of Cambridge started a new life 9 years ago today, and are now the happy parents of 3 children, Prince George, 6, Princess Charlotte, soon-to-be 5, and 2-year-old Prince Louis.
After a few years in Wales, from 2009, Prince William left his job as full-time pilot with the RAF Search and Rescue Force, and then trained for a civil pilot’s licence and became a pilot for the East Anglian Air Ambulance in 2013. The young couple then settled in their Norflok home, Anmer Hall.
Anmer Hall is a Georgian country house situated about 2 miles east of the Queen’s residence at Sandringham. Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth allocated it for use at the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and family.
Their 2 first children started their life in what Prince William still calls “home”.
As his duties to the throne get more important, and because Prince George became too old to continue his education away from London, the couple decided to move to their Kensington Palace apartment on Summer 2017.
But now schools are closed because of the pandemic confinement they came back to their “home”, like for most Holidays, so that the royal children could enjoy the freedom and beauty of countryside around Anmer Hall.
